Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi

Chairman

A visionary entrepreneur and industry titan, Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi is the founder and Chairman of SIFAX Group. With a diverse portfolio spanning maritime, aviation, haulage, logistics, oil & gas, financial services, and hospitality, SIFAX Group has become a leading force in the Nigerian economy.

Dr. Afolabi’s entrepreneurial acumen and strategic foresight have propelled SIFAX Group to international recognition. His flagship company, Ports & Cargo Handling Services Limited, is a major player in the Nigerian maritime industry. Additionally, he has successfully ventured into aviation, haulage, and hospitality, including the prestigious Lagos Marriott Hotel.

A seasoned maritime consultant and respected philanthropist, Dr. Afolabi’s commitment to excellence and social responsibility has earned him accolades and admiration. His leadership and guidance have inspired countless individuals and businesses, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the Nigerian business landscape.

Dr. Afolabi brings his over three decades of experience to guide the strategic direction of Orchidbay Investment Company. He will be leading the Board of Directors, promoting and enforcing high standards of corporate governance, including ethical conduct and compliance with regulations, thereby protecting the interests of investors and shareholders.

Olaolu Oyeyipo

Managing Director

Olaolu Oyeyipo is a seasoned investment banker with almost two decades banking experience driving value and growth for clients, assessing and managing financial risks, investment portfolios, as well as treasury, and business development. His expertise spans across various banking units, demonstrating his versatility and adaptability.

A trained economist with a B.Sc. from the University of Ilorin and an MBA from the Business School Netherlands, Olaolu possesses a strong academic foundation. He began his banking career in corporate banking at a leading Pan African commercial bank in Nigeria.

Throughout his career, Olaolu has consistently exceeded expectations. He successfully turned around a loss-making branch in Access Bank within two months, showcasing his ability to drive positive change. His experience in transaction banking at Ecobank included managing major distributors for industry-leading players. In corporate banking, he closed major deals, including a $285 million sale of a Nigerian brand to a global company, attracting significant foreign direct investment (FDI) to Nigeria.

His move to the Treasury Department further broadened his skill set, allowing him to acquire in-depth knowledge of Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodity (FICC) products. This expertise has enabled him to drive revenue and business growth. 

Overall, Olaolu Oyeyipo is a well-rounded banker with a proven track record of success. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and brings to Orchidbay Investment his knowledge, experience, expertise and ability to excel in driving clients’ financial growth and wealth. He will be providing clients with wealth Management solutions tailored to their unique needs.

Modebola Adeyemi

Non-Executive Director

Modebola Adeyemi is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years of distinguished experience across several leading banks, including Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Access Bank Plc, Ecobank Nigeria Limited, and SunTrust Bank Limited. Her expertise spans critical areas of financial management, making her a valuable asset.

She has a proven track record of driving business growth and fostering client relationships. As a meticulous credit executive, her insights contribute to sound lending decisions and optimised risk-adjusted returns. Her proactive approach ensures stability and resilience in the credit portfolio, balancing risk and return, diversifying assets and maximizing profitability.

She holds an LL.B. from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in International Management from the University of Liverpool. Debola combines legal acumen with financial expertise, enabling her to navigate risk management and complex credit transactions. Her global perspective enriches strategic decision-making.

Olawale Fasuyi

Non-Executive Director

Olawale Fasuyi is an accomplished financial services executive and business leader with over 25 years of progressive experience spanning corporate banking, energy, telecommunications, power, real estate, and investment advisory. As CEO of Aider Investments Limited, he oversees diverse portfolios in business and financial consultancy, real estate, arts advisory, and education management.

He previously held senior leadership roles at Ecobank Nigeria, including as Head of Oil & Gas and Group Global Account Manager, where he managed a portfolio of nearly $1 billion and built high-level relationships across the upstream, midstream, and downstream value chains. He also led the bank’s Telecoms and Power desk, playing a key role in financing private-sector acquisition of federal power assets.

His career includes notable positions at UBA, Access Bank/Capital Bank, Magnum Trust Bank, and Societe Generale Bank, where he directed corporate banking operations, managed major multinational and energy-sector accounts, led treasury functions, and drove business growth strategies across multiple sectors.

Olawale holds an MBA from Business School Netherlands and a B.Sc. from the University of Ibadan. He is a Honorary Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB) and has completed several international professional development programs.

Adebayo Opatade

Non-Executive Director

Bayo Opatade is a skilled finance and business professional with over two decades of quality experience working with reputable local and international organisations in different capacities. He is currently the Group Chief Finance, Investment and Strategy Officer of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, a leading integrated market infrastructure in Africa.

He began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an external auditor and consultant, advising clients on business improvements and strategy. He worked in commercial banks such as Oceanic Bank (now Ecobank), UBA Plc, Standard Chartered Bank and SunTrust Bank where he was the Chief Financial Officer, and later as the pioneer Managing Director of Adino Asset Management Limited. He is passionate about Finance, Business, Strategy, Process, Risk management and overall organisational effectiveness.

Bayo holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and an MBA from the Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and Institute of Directors (IoD).

Oloridama Afabor

Non-Executive Director

Oloridama Afabor has over 36 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Lagos.

He started his career with the Ministry of Justice in Kano State, before working as State Counsel at the Lagos State Ministry of Justice. He went on to serve at the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) in Abuja for 21 years, before retiring as a Director in 2006.

Throughout his tenure at the SEC, Dama was instrumental in the approval of several public securities offerings and cross-border investments and divestments. In 2007, he transitioned to private practice, founding the law firm Dama Afabor & Co., where he continues to offer a broad range of legal services.
